Mr. Ajigbotinu is a fictional novel based on characters in a little village in the western city of Ipetu Ijesha, in Nigeria- West Africa. It tells of a young boy whose dis-satisfaction with his sedentary village life is only worsened by the death of his mother. The decrease in the strength of family bond motivates his desertion of his father, whose agriculture business then suffers. The young mans situation is worsened when he runs into bad company away from home, and the money he stole from his fathers safe is stolen leaving him destitute. In a twist of events the police become involved; since the persons who stole his or his father's money also were already on the police wanted list. Eventually he is released into his fathers custody, returns home and begins to look at his life differently, seeing his friends and his village from the eyes of someone who desperately wants to make his current situation work.All she said was, a#39;its no use asking anything about the poor boy, anyway you want to hear it so Ia#39;ll tell you, a#39;He has just finished modern school. He came to Lagos a few days ago, together with his father, and I guess ita#39;s his first visit to Lagos. ... He greeted her bye and told her to see him tomorrow morning, while he or she would not be at home. ... Ita#39;s a remote area, Ipetu Town his village is just the interiors of the town, a certain part many people know is the more developed part of it.
